The Living World
Four Human nations and The Outlands, mortal societies, citizens, Unforgiven visitors and spiritual entry quests.

Not a sword class. Not a bow class. A soul-bound living Spirit Weapon, formed from an ancient slumbering spirit, a quested core, Ishidō offerings, and the character you have become. Every race can search for the spirit who will answer its call. Your Zentachi may reveal a shape no one expected—even you.
A Zentachi is a living spiritual weapon tied to the summoner by a soul contract. Its awakening is available as a quest to every race in the world. Its base shape can be a sword, bow, staff, spear, axe, shield, instrument, gauntlet, or a form beyond standard weapon categories. Race does not lock that shape. A melee-focused Kinsei may awaken a spirit sword; a Shinigami may receive a ranged form.
Equipping and mastering ordinary gear remains separate. Any character meeting an item's stat conditions can wield it; Strength, Might, Dexterity, Agility, Perception, Willpower and other attributes each affect several related outcomes, alongside mastery and the weapon's own living stats. Exceptions, such as the un-evolved Anima's inability to use ordinary weapons, remain until their specific evolution conditions are met.
Four Human nations and The Outlands, mortal societies, citizens, Unforgiven visitors and spiritual entry quests.
Unequal outer districts, wealthier and noble wards, inner gates, the Shinigami Academy and squads.
The white wastes and palaces inhabited by Anima and Onikage, with wandering exiles and ancient teachers.
Demons, their factions and the rediscovered legacies of the original Angels, now known as Fallen.
The reishi-associated realm of Kinsei lineages and paths toward Seraph ascension.
These names supersede the retired public labels in the encyclopedia. Database identifiers and previously saved quest IDs may retain old names temporarily for compatibility until the Unity migration is performed.
Seek a Zentachi NPC in one of the authorized hubs. Their personalities and dialogue vary; they are individual characters, not identical vending machines.
Complete a spirit-link quest to earn the core that can hold the ancient soul. Mere currency should not skip the essential quest.
Buy, forage, craft, quest for or otherwise earn rare ingredients that influence potential types, elements, attributes and features. Nothing guarantees the desired outcome.
Offer the materials and measured portions of the character's spiritual essence. Materials influence the core's developing living stats and affinity weights.
Incantation, voice and spiritual pressure reach an ancient spirit who might answer with curiosity, reluctance or a test.
The spirit grants partial or complete knowledge of its name over time, revealing its first weapon form and beginning a personal relationship.
Ishidō are pieces of material or essence with an affinity: weapon type, elemental character, physical or spiritual features, growth rates and stat influences. Gathering and feeding multiple ingredients is a meaningful choice. The sum of their effects changes probabilities and the emerging Zentachi's parameters without guaranteeing a requested form. Rare ingredients may be acquired through foraging, quests, professions, trade, auctions, bazaars and other player-run systems.
| Ingredient focus | What it can influence | Example sources | Constraint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon-form Ishidō | Potential blade, bow, spear, staff, gauntlet and other form weights | Weapon master quests, rare forging material | Raises chances; cannot lock a form |
| Element Ishidō | Affinity and potential elemental techniques | Biomes, encounters, profession crafting | Not every element appears in every core |
| Structure Ishidō | Durability, mass, control, reach and defensive behavior | Ore, crystal, rare salvaging | Advantages carry handling tradeoffs |
| Resonance Ishidō | Spirit responsiveness, incantation compatibility and SP efficiency | Trials, ancient relic quests | Effectiveness depends on character stats |
| Transformation Ishidō | Opportunities for later-form changes or emergent traits | Rare discoveries and advanced trials | Transformation is never a purchase guarantee |
These are design categories for the help file. Exact ingredient names, numerical weights, availability, recipe rules and balance must be taken from the final item database before publication as verified gameplay constants.
Millions of years ago, mighty Soul Reapers lived and died as heroes, scholars, guardians, rivals and legends. Their souls have slept since the retreat of Chaos, unaware of the strange present age. A summoner's spiritual pressure and invocation may stir one from this profound rest. Some spirits find a novice amusing, some see potential, others demand proof of character, and a few remain silent until their trust is earned.
A Zentachi spirit is a partner with history and agency, not a completely obedient enchanted item. Its preference, memory and emerging affection can influence the process of learning its name, unlocking skills and changing form. The player is not guaranteed a compliant spirit merely for owning rare material.
Just as a player's profile displays a multi-axis radar of growth and fighting style, a Zentachi possesses its own living attributes and developmental record. A weapon's effective strength depends on both sets of stats, its shape and mastery. The suggested categories below require final implementation mapping to the game's item data.
Force, penetration, precision, spiritual throughput and attack tempo.
Responsiveness, balance, reach, aiming, guard stability and wielder compatibility.
Name knowledge, incantation stability, trust, SP conversion and reaction to its wielder's personality.
Durability, wear, repair behavior, affinity potential and future transformation opportunities.
Personalization rule: The core's Ishidō offerings shape possibilities; the player's actions, answers, emotional traits, combat patterns, attributes and relationship with the summoned spirit shape which possibilities materialize.
The Zentachi presents its first functional shape, first techniques and perhaps a partial name. Its physical appearance is not guaranteed to stay this way.
A stronger shared identity forms. The weapon may transform shape, reveal more abilities or preserve its existing design while gaining subtle properties.
The spirit's mature bond and deep name knowledge unlock its fullest expression. Shape may change for the first time, change again, or remain visually stable.
Form changes may happen at stage II, stage III, both or neither. That variability is intentional: a character receives the companion spirit meant to answer that particular summoning, not a weapon selected from a rigid race menu. This unified progression replaces separate racial release taxonomies.
Ancient spirits may disclose their names in fragments. Learning only part of the name permits incomplete control, while the full name strengthens access to abilities and deepens understanding. Spoken incantations are the practical expression of the contract: the character's voice and spiritual pressure bring a slumbering soul closer to awareness. The spirit can speak, argue, remember and teach.
The existing multi-thousand seeded Spirit Weapon designs—including their original names, lore, call phrases and skills—should be migrated into universal Zentachi entries without losing their identity. The seed is preserved across eligible evolutions; the spirit's form and expression can change as the character changes race.
Some players may feel their Zentachi is not the one they expected. They can choose to break it through genuine use and damage, without continuously charging it with SP, until it completely fails. This decision has a serious consequence: the contracted bond is severed or enters the broken state and must be resolved.
Rare healers with time or past-reset powers may be able to restore or reverse a broken weapon according to their unique skill rules. Otherwise, a player must return to the originating Zentachi mentor, face that mentor's disappointment, pay the established fee and complete a replacement questline to attempt a new bond. The outcome is again influenced, not guaranteed, by materials and character identity.
Design safety: Breakage and rerolls should not create unbounded statistical power or a paid-for optimal weapon. Soul links need server-authoritative ownership, repair status, consumption of materials, and transactional replacement to prevent duplication.
There are six intended Zentachi initiation locations, because the Spirit World contains two distinct social and institutional hubs—not because there are six independent realms.
| Realm | Zentachi mentor location | Social context |
|---|---|---|
| Living World | Living World mentor | Mortals, citizens, Unforgiven and worldly applicants |
| Spirit World | Outer District mentor | Poor, merchant, prosperous and noble residential districts |
| Spirit World | Inner Academy / palace mentor | Shinigami Academy, squads, inner leadership and students |
| Limbo | Limbo mentor | Anima, Onikage, wandering spiritual exiles and Hedge Lords |
| Demon World | Demon World mentor | Demons, Fallen traditions and exiled Hedge Lords |
| The Reicht | The Reicht mentor | Kinsei, Seraph paths, wandering exiles and Hedge Lords |
The mentor identities, names, fees and quest details require game-side design. Mentors should have distinct personalities, dialogue and reactions, including the notoriously irritated response to someone who deliberately broke an earlier Zentachi.
Mortal candidates can pursue the soul-link path subject to their current realm and progression limits.
Academy-trained souls may forge an individualized Zentachi, independent of conventional blade shape.
A spirit weapon can be a bow, sword, axe or other form; reishi expertise influences combat, not shape eligibility.
An ascended Kinsei may deepen an existing bond and manifest celestial properties.
Demonic traditions can make an ancient contract without requiring a demonic-looking weapon.
Ancient Angel history may alter the contract's expression, not its universal availability.
The bonded-object tradition can coexist with a sentient Zentachi covenant.
Anima-influenced Shinigami may awaken a Zentachi with dual-nature expression.
Can pursue its spirit link even before obtaining conventional equipment access; evolution prerequisites remain distinct.
A former Anima's contract can take a personal form not dictated by a conventional weapon class.
Yes. The shape is individual, never restricted by the race's traditional weapon archetype.
No. Appropriate Ishidō influences the odds but cannot promise a result.
No. Every race has a Zentachi path with its own entry circumstances.
Not necessarily. It may change at either later stage, at both or at neither.
Yes, through destructive breakage and mentor-based paid quest, or exceptional restoration powers.
