KARMA COMMUNITY CODE

COMMUNITY / SAFETY / ROLEPLAY

THE CODE.

Community standards for KARMA: YIN & YANG. These guidelines describe intended moderation conduct; the forum's implementation and operating team must be verified before public posting opens. In-character rivalry never excuses out-of-character harassment.

1. Respect the player

No threats, hate speech, harassment, stalking, intimidation, doxxing, sexual exploitation, bullying or sustained personal attacks. Do not target protected identities. Disagree with ideas, not people's worth.

2. Keep information safe

Never share passwords, login links, payment information, someone's private data or real addresses. Don't request account credentials. Report account theft, scams, impersonation or dangerous behavior through official support channels.

3. No cheats or scams

No phishing, malware, bot promotion, exploit distribution, fraudulent trades, impersonation of staff or false affiliation. Game mechanic discussion is welcome; actionable abuse and account compromise are not.

4. Stay on topic

Use the appropriate board and choose a topic label. Avoid spam, repetitive threads, unwanted advertising and off-topic cross-posts. Credit original artists and writers. No pirated materials or stolen work.

5. Roleplay consent

Use IC (in-character) and OOC (out-of-character) labels. Agree on tone, limits, pacing and combat outcomes before escalating. No godmodding, forced injuries/deaths, controlling others' characters, metagaming or powerplaying without consent.

6. Keep conflict fictional

Fictional Houses, nations, demons and spiritual factions can disagree fiercely in story. OOC consent always overrides the scene. Players can pause or leave a scene. Fictional crime, war or romance does not authorize real threats or harassment.

7. Content boundaries

Mark potentially intense themes in the opening post. No sexual content involving minors, predatory grooming or sexual roleplay in the community boards. Do not use graphic violence or adult content to shock unwilling participants.

8. Game canon versus RP

Character sheets and RP promotions never create actual game ranks, inventory items, House ownership, currencies, admin powers or story canon. Clearly distinguish player headcanon, community events and official game announcements.

9. Trade and recruitment

Use the trade and guild recruitment boards. No real-money trading, account sales, private payment requests, gambling schemes or external wallet claims. Game economy privileges cannot be awarded by forum staff.

10. Reports and appeals

Report the specific thread or reply with relevant context. Do not organize public pile-ons or knowingly file false reports. Moderation decisions are logged; request review through the owner's published support channel when available. Helpers should escalate conflicts involving themselves.

11. Staff conduct

Board Helpers welcome and guide players, help with etiquette and can temporarily lock problematic threads in assigned boards. RP Guides help with story consent. Moderators may hide posts and resolve reports within their assignments. Senior staff handle broader restrictions. Only the owner promotes or demotes.

12. Fair enforcement

Actions should be proportionate and documented with a reason: guidance, thread lock, post hide, time-limited posting restrictions and appeal review. There is no automated permanent ban. Repeated reports alone do not prove guilt. Suspected imminent harm requires timely human escalation.

Suggested roleplay thread format

Title: Location — short scene name. Tag: In Character, Out of Character, Character Sheet or Event. Cast: participating characters. Time: fictional date or era. Consent: open/closed, combat permissions, content boundaries. Summary: scene hook and outcome agreement.

Examples: “Rukongai — The Lantern Merchant,” “Outlands — Lost Patrol,” “Kinsei Shadows — Court of Winter,” and “Waterfall Village — Sparring Invitation.” These are story prompts, not claims that game events have been implemented.
